Not keen on hostels and would rather pay extra for hotels and catered meals? No problem, check out the options and extras below the itinerary or Contact us today to discuss your ideal custom supported bike tour through the mountains.
Day 1: 91 Km
Load up the van and trailer with bikes and luggage here in Edmonton or Calgary and hit the road to Rocky Mountain House. Unload the bikes and ride through to the town of Nordegg. We’ll stay at the HI Shunda Creek Hostel in Nordegg for the night. As we get closer to town you’ll notice the surroundings change gradually from the flat prairies to the foothills of the Rockies.
Day 2: 103 Km
Ride out of Nordegg into the magnificent Rocky Mountains past the spectacular Abraham Lake to Saskatewan River Crossing on the Icefields Parkway. We’ll turn right and ride up the Icefields parkway for another 11 kms to Rampart Creek hostel where we will stay the night.
Day 3: 94 Km
We’ll ride out of Rampart creek and head back past Saskatewan River Crossing. After a steady climb out of Saskatewan River Crossing the road flattens out as we pass by towering snowcapped mountains and turquiose lakes. We then head up hill again to the top of Bow Summit (highest point on the Icefields Parkway). From here it is all down hill past some spectacular lakes, rivers, glaciers and mountain peaks all the way to Lake Louise to the HI-Lake Louise Alpine Centre. Lake Louise is just down the road and is a great place to stretch out the legs during a stroll around the lake later in the afternoon.
Day 4: 83 Km
The last day of riding is a mixture of flats and gentle rolling hills along the Bow Valley Parkway towards Banff. Depending on the group and the time available on the day we can extend this ride past Banff to Canmore. We pack up the bikes and luggage and drive you back to Edmonton or Calgary. Airport transfers possible on request.
